Boasting a long history in Lingshan County, Yandun drum is a huge drum made of cowhide, with a height of 2-3 meters and a weight of 200-350 kilograms. It was used to scare away beasts and later used in celebration of bumper harvest and other festive occasions. The Yandun drum making technique was listed as a regional intangible cultural heritage in 2008.
